A Wee Bit O’ Romance That Won’t Break Your Heart

She sits upon her throne of gold and utters to herself,

“‘Tis time I take my broken heart and mend it on my own,

For there’s no Romeo about to take me from my throne.

And I shall in my sweetest state of mind and body be,

The most amazing heroine the world will ever see!

The people of my kingdom shall, without order or demand,

Look upon their queen see an independent hand,

Not ruled upon by man or lust, nor love long lost you see,

But simply there upon her throne a queen to trusted be,

And I the queen shall look at them and in their midst shall rein,

With due respect and honor without inflicting pain.

And all my subjects in my realm shall know on me they can rely,

Without the upper handedness of some evil guy,

And I the queen shall fall in love with just some average man,

And teach him how to be regaled by all the people in this land.

And daily in and daily out my man will be renowned,

For I will show my kingdom how true love does resound,

And no one in my kingdom will be poor, or lost, or rude.

Because they will see that even in my regality I’m just like all of you.

And that will be all that’s said of me, that might be odd,

That unlike any other Queen I have faith in my One God.

And I won’t be the shallow sort no I will be most real,

I’ll pay the debts of those who need it and never ever steal,

Yes I will be the Queen that no one will forget

Like no one was before and they haven’t seen quite yet.

Yes I know the kind of queen to be so God please help me through,

I want the world to see in me the glow that comes from you.

Well self,” the queen then utters as a nanny joins the room,

“it’s off to bed you’re only six and morning’s coming soon.”
